About

boxing-smallMy name is Liz. I have Fibromyalgia. It sucks. It began about four years ago from this day, Sep 15, 2013. I am still trying to understand it, work with it, learn from it, but most of all – fight it!

The story of the “No No Fibro” slogan was actually started when I was on the phone with my sister-in-law, who is a consultant for a company that sells engravable bags and storage containers. I was looking for something to hold all of my medications. I had just gotten home from the doctor and was now staring at close to thirty bottles of supplements, vitamins, homeopathic pills, hormones, sedatives, and anti-inflammatory pills and powders. It was overwhelming. When we finally found a container to hold it all, my sister-in-law asked me if I wanted anything engraved on it. Suddenly, out of no where, the words popped out of my mouth for the first time – “NO NO FIBRO!” The bag now sits in a corner of my bedroom to remind me every day that when I take my medications, I am fighting back. It helps me feel stronger somehow.

Not long after that, my mother suggested to me that I design a t-shirt with the slogan on it. (See the Store Story page.) The image above is what evolved. After a sudden surge of sales in my Cafe Press store – Designing Hope – I knew that I was not the only one fighting the good fibro fight. That is when I decided to start this journal.  Please know that I do not intend this to be a place to complain, although I am sure I will slip into that every now and again. Let’s face it, I’m only human. But the point is to share information in the hopes to educate, encourage, and draw strength in the fight against Fibromyalgia. For myself and others, I hope it helps.
